Verified impact
Over its 2022-2023 crediting period, OFLP generated 12.4 million verified emissions reduction credits—roughly equivalent to taking 2.6 million gasoline-powered passenger vehicles off the road for one year.

What is the Oromia Forested Landscape Program (OFLP)?
OFLP is a large-scale forest conservation and sustainable land-use program in Ethiopia’s Oromia region. It is implemented under the World Bank’s BioCarbon Fund Initiative for Sustainable Forest Landscapes (ISFL) and aims to reduce emissions from deforestation and land-use change while improving livelihoods and forest governance.
Where does OFLP operate?
OFLP covers the entire Oromia region, Ethiopia’s largest regional state. Oromia contains approximately 52% of Ethiopia’s forests, covering about 9 million hectares, and is home to more than 40 million people.
